Our Musical Guests for 2015

Jacob Moon and Ruth Ann Onley will be our musical guests for the 2015 Aurora Prayer Breakfast.

Jacob Moon

Jacob Moon is a solo Canadian folk singer/songwriter and guitarist based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He has an extensive repertoire of songs, with nine albums to his credit.

Ruth Ann Onley

Ruth Ann Onley is a Christian recording artist and featured soloist on Christian television programs such as 100 Huntley Street and the People’s Church. Her concert ministry takes her into countless Canadian and American churches and Bible Conferences.

Born and raised in a Christian family in Simcoe, Ontario, Ruth Ann started singing at the age of five. Her mother was an accomplished pianist and passed on to Ruth Ann a love and appreciation of music. Encouraged by her parents and church, Ruth Ann developed her singing skills as a choir member and soloist. After studying Psychology and French at the University of Guelph, Ruth Ann embarked on a professional singing career.

She toured the United States with a show group for three years before returning to Toronto for a solo career including orchestras, stage shows, conventions and television. She came to nation-wide attention singing national anthems for the Toronto Argonauts and the Toronto Blue Jays. In 1982 she recorded an album called “Hello, It’s Me” and won the Canadian Country Music Newcomer of the Year Award.

Marriage to David Onley and beginning a family brought a subsequent refocusing of her faith. She felt God leading her back to her roots and into the ministry of Christian music. Her debut Christian CD “The Way” powerfully proclaims that our Lord Jesus is The Way, The Truth and The Life.

Her second CD “Who Am I”, produced by Grammy Award winner Danny Daniels, is a deeply moving and inspiring collection of new songs, old favourites and choruses. It compels the listener to ponder ‘who we are’ in relation to our Saviour, Jesus Christ. In recognition, Ruth Ann received the 2005 Maja Award for “Best Southern Gospel Performer.”

From September 5th,2007 until September 23rd, 2014 Ruth Ann enjoyed participating in many of her husband’s activities as Lieutenant Governor and embraced her public role with enthusiasm. With the conclusion of that role, and finding an empty nest with three grown sons, Ruth Ann looks forward to resuming her musical career and ministry.

Her passionate mission, through music, is to lead you to the life-changing truth of Jesus Christ and into a deeper love relationship with Him.

May you be enriched by her music as His name is glorified!
