Dr. Gary Nelson
"Go Into ALL The World"

Dr. Gary Nelson joined Tyndale University College & Seminary as President and Vice Chancellor in 2010. He previously served as General Secretary of the international mission and development organization Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM). He has taught and lectured at universities and seminaries across Canada and globally and continues to speak at conferences on themes that focus on contemporary issues in the church and leadership. His writings include a soon to be released book entitled Leading in Disorienting Times: Navigating Change in Churches and Organizations (Chalice Press, 2015).

Gary holds degrees from the University of British Columbia and Fuller Theological Seminary in California. As an educator, he has been involved in creative approaches to theological and ministerial training. He is committed to enriching the mind, heart, and character of students and to leading Tyndale's faculty and staff in forming graduates who become “culture makers” and people of faith in the places they work and live.

Both Dr. Nelson and his wife Carla are involved with students at Tyndale. Dr. Carla Nelson serves as the Director of Tyndale’s Bachelor of Education program and Associate Professor of Education at Tyndale University College.
